The fourth industrial revolution, which is represented by artificial intelligence and intelligent robot technology, literally revolutionizes our living environment. GIST established the Integrated Institute of Technology(IIT) in October 2015 to respond more actively and aggressively to these revolutionary changes. The first goal of the IIT is to nurture fusion technology experts who will grow into the leading role of this fourth industrial revolution era. To this end, we will establish a one-stop experiential learning program, from design to production that enables students to practice practical fusion. We will also build a more flexible infrastructure for the future by building an intelligent interaction ICT infrastructure within Dasan Building that will become the basis for future convergence education and research. Second, the IIT will be specialized in energy, culture technology, medical, artificial intelligence, and intelligent robot technology, which are local core industries and future growth industries. Through this, we will develop key technologies with global competitiveness and contribute to industrialization to meet the needs of the times and our nation. In order to secure the excellence of fusion research, we actively encourage convergence research and development projects that enable interdisciplinary cooperation research. Ultimately, we expect to create a new research paradigm through this.
